Terracotta Army marches into Paris People with an interest in all things ancient and archaeological should get their cheap hotels in Paris booked and head to La Pinacotheque before September 14th.

Visitors will be given a unique opportunity to see the Terracotta Army, or the Armee Eternelle as it is known in French, at this special exhibition.

The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 by local farmers near China's Shaanxi province in one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

It consists of more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 700 horses, which were created more than 2,000 years ago to protect China's first emperor, Shi Huang Di, as he died and passed into the afterlife.

Around 20 warriors from the Terracotta Army are included in the exhibition at La Pinacotheque, which travelled to Paris via Rome and London.

Visitors to the French capital will find the museum on Place de la Madeleine.
