The Prudish Need Not Apply
Visitors to the Loire Valley city of Tours in January should leave their scruples at home and ensure that all stiff upper lips are suitably relaxed if they intend to visit the Desir, Desirs festival.
This event will be held at the Studio Cinemas and will explore various cinematic considerations of the theme of desire.
Visitors will be invited to shed their repressions and learn about the ways in which cinema has investigated the nature of sex and sensuality.
The festival will not only consider the medium of film, however, as explorations of desire in literature, dance and other visual arts will also feature on the programme.
Desir, Desirs will take place at the Studio Cinemas venue in Tours between January 19th and 30th 2008.
Tours is a city in the Loire Valley in north-west France, close to the Chateau de Chenonceau, one of the most famous and celebrated chateaux in the region.
