You Won't Get Bored at Boarderweek

There will be lost of boarding but hopefully no boredom at the Val Thorens ski resort in France when Boarderweek takes off from December 15th to 22nd.

This event, one of the highlights of the Val Thorens season, sees skiers and snowboarders compete in a range of half-pipe and slope competitions.

There are live music events and parties in the evenings as well as a snowboard village where boarders can try out the latest equipment and even a 45-metre bungee jump, if you're into that sort of thing.

Regardless of its hosting of this popular event, Val Thorens is very much worth a visit for winter sports fans owing to its 2,300-metre altitude, making it the highest ski resort in Europe.

Many of its slopes face north and north-west, providing good snow conditions, and the high altitude means that the resort has a very long ski season.
