Beat the Germans at Their Own Game

Beat the Germans at their own game Coolgorilla has launched a phrasebook of essential German for England fans planning to watch the team strive for the World Cup.

Travellers to Germany might need phrases like "where are the toilets" and "this sauerkraut needs more salt" on a regular excursion, but Coolgorilla has produced something different from the norm.

The online phrase book, containing around 750 key phrases for footy fans features day-to-day necessities, like "where is the stadium" and "can I have a beer please".

Furthermore, England fans might delight in taunting home crowds with "wo ist nun Euer Ballack", or "where's your Ballack gone" after Germany's mysteriously injured/not injured midfielder.

Other phrases with which any self-respecting football fan couldn't do without are "du singst nich mehr" – "you're not singing any more" – and the no doubt ubiquitous "fallsuch", or "dive".

The defining moment in any English fan's football repertoire may well, however, be "Se denken, es ist aus … und sie haben recht!", which of course translates to "they think it's all over … it is now".
