Berlin Makes Top City List
People booking a cheap hotel in Berlin might be pleased to hear that travel magazine and website, Wanderlust, has listed the city in its 2010 Wanderlust Travel Awards.
The awards were announced yesterday (February 4th) and the user-voted results placed Germany's capital city at number three.
Taking the top spot was Luang Prabang in Laos, south-east Asia. The city won the award in 2007 and 2008 as well. In at second was the Italian city Siena.
There was no British city that made the list and the UK did not make the Top Country, but the Met Office did win a special Disservice to Travel Award, voted by a Wanderlust judging panel, for providing "long term weather forecasting".
While the UK landscape did not make a mark on the magazine's readers, the country's travel personalities did. Michael Palin won the award for Top TV Personality and Coast, a programme on Britain's coastlines made the Top TV or Radio Programme list at number five.
