Carnival Carnage in Bremen

Carnival carnage in Bremen The Bremen Carnival has accrued something of a reputation for being a good place for some wild and whacky fun and the 2008 event looks set to be no different.

With parades, masked concerts and masquerade parties all set to take place in the German city on January 25th and 26th, all the ingredients will be there to provide lots of opportunities for fun.

The carnival has been a tradition in Bremen since 1985, when a local samba club decided to organise a regular event to boost the city's party atmosphere.

A different theme characterises each year's event - in 2008 the inspiration behind the celebration will be 'delicatessen', meaning that attendees should attire themselves in the most unusual food-related garb they can find.

While the premise behind the party is different every year, the party music and joyful atmosphere are consistent aspects of the Bremen Carnival.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Germany who decide to attend this event should make sure they experience the kick-off party on Friday night, with a street carnival taking place on Saturday afternoon followed by a ball in the evening.
