The Cologne Marathon 2007 takes place on October 7th, with an entry fee of €65 for anyone registering between now and September 21st.

Run in staggered starts between 11.30 and 12.10 local time on the day, the event crosses the River Rhine just after the start and just before the finish, with the route passing the finest buildings and parks in the city on the way.

These include the spectacular twin-spired cathedral, a United Nations heritage site, plus various parks and churches and the numerous old buildings that adorn the cityscape.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels can, of course, choose to watch instead, while competitors and spectators alike will be able to enjoy a fine time in a city which combines its architectural treasures with fine food and beer.
