German-American Volksfest Prepares for Next Outing
People staying in cheap hotels in Berlin this summer will be able to experience an interesting cultural combination at the German-American Volksfest.
Every year, this event sees the former Truman Plaza in Berlin's Dahlem district transformed into an American village.
In 2008, visitors will be able to see the results of this intriguing blend of cultures between July 25th and August 17th.
Last year's event saw Berlin pay tribute to its sister city of Los Angeles, presenting a recreation of Venice Beach, complete with bodybuilders and muscle-men, and a host of music and theatre shows.
Visitors also got the opportunity to have their picture taken as a Hollywood star and enjoy a karaoke show.
The event takes place at the corner of Clayallee and Argentinische Allee in Berlin.
Germany's capital is home to a number of locations and attractions that are popular among visitors, including the Reichstag, the national parliament building near the Brandenburg Gate.
