Germans Produce 'World Cup Wurst'

Keen German football fans are making sausages shaped like football boots that will go on sale in time for the World Cup.

The sausages will be packaged in the red and white of the England flag and will go on sale at the start of the tournament in the summer, reports the website Ananova.

Texda Textildarm, the company producing the World Cup Wurst, has produced sausages for every country in the competition.

It claims that it will soon be exporting the tasty treats to the various countries so that they can be stocked in shops and supermarkets in time for June.

"We are well prepared for the World Cup with our special sausage designs," manager of Texda Textildarm, Holger Schlange, told the website.

He went on to say that the company wanted all football fans to be able to enjoy the event "right down to their stomachs".

The first World Cup match will take place between Germany and Costa Rica on June 9th in Munich.
