Those who like their motorbikes may just love to be in Berlin on March 31st and April 1st, as the Night of the Jumps event takes place in the German capital.

Held in the Max Schmeling Arena (named after the famous boxer), the event features stunt motorcyclists from around the world, zooming up ramps and performing mid-air aerobatics as they compete for both individual and team championships, with the teams representing manufacturers in the same way as cars in Formula One.

Outside the event, visitors staying in cheap hotels in Berlin have a wealth of things to see and do.

These include visiting the remnants of the Berlin Wall, exploring the revived area around the Brandenburg Gate (where the wall once ran) and the historic Olympic Stadium, where black American athlete Jesse Owens confounded Hitler's Aryan theories with his four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics and where last year's World Cup Final was held.
