Honky Tonk Party in Leipzig
Party animals should get to Leipzig this August as the city prepares for the once-a-year shindig that is the Honky Tonk Pub festival.
For one night only, the modern German city turns into one big music venue, with more than 100 bars simultaneously hosting live music.
Tunes are available to suit all tastes, ranging from rock and pop to swinging sounds of jazz or salsa.
However, those planning to take a visit to the event beware, with the festival starting early in the evening and lasting well into the small hours of the night, there may be more than enough time to indulge in the traditional German past time of getting drunk!
With many cheap hotels available within the city, revellers may not have too far to stagger back to their beds though, while the city's great cafes and restaurants could be the perfect choice for a slap-up breakfast to cure the hangover.
