Kaisers Visit Germany

Kaisers visit Germany Anyone imagining that Munich will spend most of autumn recovering from a post-Oktoberfest hangover may be reckoning without the arrival of the Kaisers.

Not that Germany has gone back to pre-1918 days and reinstated the monarchy; instead it is the Kaiser Chiefs, the Leeds band named after the South African football team, which plays a concert in the city on October 29th.

Fans of the band will be able to catch their heroes at the Zenith, combining the gig with a visit to a city full of character and interest.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Munich will be able to enjoy a city replete with remarkable buildings, with palaces, churches and castles to enchant and delight.

There will also be some beer gardens open to prove that the stuff hasn't run out, while football fans can take in Bayern Munich or 1860 Munich game at the Allianz Arena, the futuristic stadium built for the 2006 World Cup and shared by the city's two professional clubs.
