Larger then Life Vehicles on Show in Hamburg

Larger then life vehicles on show in Hamburg The two biggest sea and land vehicles were on show at the vast port festival in Hamburg at the weekend.

Organisers claimed yesterday that the event drew more than a million visitors to the northern German city, reports the Associated Press.

The world's largest aeroplane, the 840-passenger Airbus A380, flew a loop-the-loop in the sky over the Elbe river for the spectators.

This plane is set to become the first A380 to be fitted out with interior furnishings at the Airbus factory in Hamburg.

In addition, one of the largest and most expensive cruise liners, the Queen Mary 2, sailed into port in Hamburg in time for a firework display on Saturday evening.

The three-day port festival in Hamburg, which ended on Sunday, marked the 817th anniversary of the port, which is now a major hub for routes to eastern and northern Europe.

For those wishing to sample the many other delights that this German city has to offer, now may be the perfect opportunity to book your room in one of the many hotels in Hamburg.
