Munich Magic
Film buffs looking to spot the best up and coming talent in Europe may find the Munich International Festival of Film Schools just what they are looking for.
Taking place from November 19th to the 25th, the festival is taking place for the 26th time, with organisers promising €55,000 (£37,260) in prize money to the winners of eight categories for which student film makers from 23 different countries compete.
Visitors will be able to watch films presented by the students at the Filmmuseum Munchen, price €4 each or €25 for a festival pass.
Many major film makers have starred in Munich down the years, including British animator Nick Park of Wallace and Gromit fame.
Besides the festival, Munich has many attractions for visitors.
The city is famous for beer, art and historic buildings, as well as having a variety of accommodation options, including cheap hotels.
It makes a good base for a wider tour of Bavaria, with both the Alps and the Black Forest close at hand.
