October Can Wait
Visitors to Munich won't have to wait until the leaves turn gold and the big beer tents arrive to have some fun, with Summerfest providing plenty of fun in the summer sun.
A major highlight of the festival, held from August 3rd to the 21st in the Olympic Park, is the boatman's tournament, where, out in the middle of the lake, these gladiators of the shallow end try to capsize each others' boats in a spectacular display of the art of getting very wet.
Naturally enough, the festival has all sorts of other entertainments, with a fairground, music, food and of course a beer garden, with ensures the thirsty don't leave Bavaria without a taste of its most famous product.
Entry to the park is free.
