Shakira to Sing for Berlin

Columbian singer Shakira has been named this week as part of the World Cup final pre-match entertainment in Berlin on July 9th.

The stunning songstress will perform along with hip-hop star Wyclef Jean at the tournament's grand finale in Germany before the big game begins.

An estimated 1.5 billion people are expected to tune in worldwide to watch the singer perform her latest hit My Hips Don't Lie.

The 2006 World Cup will begin on June 9th in Munich and the final will be a culmination of a month of football matches involving 32 countries.

A Sony BMG spokesperson commented that they were "delighted" that the female star and ex-Fugees singer Jean have been picked to perform at the event.

"It is sure to make the thousands and thousands of fans gathered at the stadium get up and dance before kick-off," the spokesperson added.
