Art lovers may have a good reason to head to southern Germany this October with the Long Art Night October 7th in the Staatsgalerie website.
The exhibition is held on the first Saturday of every month, when the gallery is open until midnight, displaying works by great artists such as Picasso and Munch.
Among a number of extra events put on by the gallery are tours, lectures and plays.
The gallery is also open daily for the rest of the week.
While providing plenty for art lovers to enjoy, Stuttgart also has plenty of accommodation, including a number of cheap hotels.
Stuttgart and the Swabia region also offers interesting things to see including the Mercedes-Benz Museum, historic castles, the picturesque Neckar Valley and, to the west, the famous spa resort of Baden-Baden, used as a base by the England football team.
