'Unfinished' Art in Berlin
Berlin is once again home to the transmediale festival until February 4th 2007.
Starting tomorrow, the theme of this year's festival is "unfinish!" and will no doubt feature works that challenge, stimulate and educate visitors.
The festival, now in its 20th year, incorporates ideas of how art and society are being changed by contemporary media and associated technologies.
Organisers say that the theme of unfinish! demands reassessing processes "that are deemed closed".
They state: "unfinish! investigates artistic processes that are open to change and reversal of decisions.
"unfinish! is the battle cry and the curse of digital work that knows no conclusion, but only consecutive versions. A paradigm of digital culture?"
Having been immersed in the battle cry of a digital culture, visitors might want to explore more of Berlin's historic sights, such as its humbling and memorable Holocaust Memorial.
