Up for the Proms in Bremen
The Nokia Night of the Proms is to take place in Bremen this December in an annual pop-classical concert now in its 23rd year.
Expected to perform are Mike Oldfield, Ike Turner, John Mills, Tony Henry, Miriam Stokley and Il Novecento.
Holland will also see Donna Summer perform while Germany will host Paul Carrack from Mike and the Mechanics.
Originating in Belgium, the event is now popular in the Netherlands, Germany and France and claims to provide an all-singing, all-dancing celebration of music through the ages.
The idea for Night of the Proms is said to be inspired by the British Last Night of the Proms when two Flemish students gave it their own twist by adding contemporary music and popular artists to the programme.
The Last Night of the Proms in Britain is held at the Royal Albert Hall with tickets often highly sought after.
The Nokia Night of the Proms event will take place at the AWD Dome in Bremen with ticket prices at €23 (£15) to €50 (£34).
