Werder Fun is
Northern Germany is not always renowned for its carnivals and bonhomie, but visitors to Bremen on the weekend of February 9th and 10th may find themselves taking a very different view.
The Bremen Carnival, which has been running since 1985, is a wild weekend of fun and costume, starting on the Saturday afternoon and running on until Sunday evening, when it climaxes with a ball.
A special feature of the event are the masked parades, while the whole weekend has plenty of concerts going on to add some extra rhythm to the whole party.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Bremen should enjoy the carnival, but will also find other interesting things to do in the city.
Science enthusiasts can enjoy the Universumm Science centre, culture vultures a wide range of museums, beer lovers the Becks brewery and football fans can catch a Werder Bremen game.
