Athens Set for Rockwave

Greece is set to face the shockwaves of Rockwave next summer, as the music event takes place in Athens.

Although the dates are yet to be confirmed, according to Whatsonwhen, the event takes place in 2007, possibly giving music fans a welcome break from the oft-muddy celebrations at the UK's Glastonbury.

Top acts to headline at the appropriately named Terra Vibe event in 2006 included Franz Ferdinand, The Dandy Warhols, Twisted Sister and WASP.

The event, which may well be basked in typical Athenian sunshine, also has a plethora of other events to keep the music fans entertained, including a skate park, jugglers and acrobats, while those who are less feint-of-heart can give the bungee jump a try.

The Greek Ministry of Tourism notes that the historic city, which has many ancient relics to appease sight-seers, as well as great weather and a vibrant nightlife, has a wide range of accommodation, from cheap hotels to luxurious lodgings.
