Cheap Hotels in Greece - News
Him Indoors
Visitors to northern Greece who have ever fancied a bit of role reversal in which the lady of the house heads to the pub for a pint while her husband has to stay at home doing the ironing and feeding the kids could be in luck (the ladies, at least).
In every October (2007 date to be confirmed), the towns of Monocclisia and Nea Petra hold a Women's Festival, in which these traditional, stereotyped roles are turned on their heads in grand style, perhaps to remind the men of the gratitude they owe their hard-working other halves.
Those staying in cheap hotels may not necessarily have any hovering and dusting to do, but at the very least the ladies can leave the kids behind as they nip to the cafe and have a natter and the man about town becomes thoroughly domesticated.
Men struggling to cope with this inversion of normality will be glad to know they can take off the pinny after 24 hours as the festival only lasts one day.
