Festive Beauty in Budapest
Travellers who enjoy Christmas trips could consider Hungarian capital Budapest this year, which traditionally holds a number of concerts to mark the festive period.
One of the city's most famous buildings, Matthias Church, holds concerts on Saturday nights throughout December and for four days after Christmas Day.
A number of musical performances will entertain visitors, from organ pieces and instrumental compositions to choral works.
Budapest is well known for its Christmas celebrations and particularly for its annual market.
The Hungarian city is one of Europe's most picturesque capitals, with sights and landmarks including Saint Stephen's Basilica, the Lutheran Church and the Inner City Franciscan Church.
Adventurous visitors can also visit the cavernous Castle Cave and the Chapel in the Rock, also known as Saint Ivan's Cave, while those more inclined to cultural exploits can head for the Aquincum Museum and Roman ruins.
