Hungary Prepares for Budafest
Visitors to the capital of Hungary this summer will get the chance to enjoy Budafest, one of the city's major music events.
The festival brings musical performances and productions to three major venues – the Hilton Dominican Court, Szent Istvan Square and Margaret Island.
An opera gala will get the event under way – featuring works by Emmerich Kalman, Franz Lehar and Richard Strauss – at the Hilton on July 2nd.
The Budapest Klezmer Band and a '100-member' gypsy orchestra will then perform on July 6th and 10th respectively at the same venue.
People staying in cheap hotels in Budapest will be able to enjoy regular events in the city during July and August, including a production of Puccini's opera Manon Lescaut.
Budafest will draw to a close at Margaret Island, with an operatic production of Romeo and Juliet on August 15th.
