Poker Fans Heading for Hungary

Poker fans heading for Hungary Card game enthusiasts staying in cheap hotels in Budapest this month may be glad to hear that the 2008 European Poker Tour (EPT) is headed for the city.

It will be the first time that Hungary will host the mammoth event which is already a sell out.

Alan Bowden, editor of InsidePoker Magazine, said that a lot of Americans, Brits and Scandinavians were expected to travel in for the occasion.

He added that poker was "the kind of game that as soon as it gets a foothold into a country it really takes off because it's such a great game".

Season five of the EPT kicked off in Barcelona on September 10th and after arriving in Hungary will continue on through Europe to Warsaw and Prague.

Held at the Las Vegas Casino in the Sofitel Hotel, 500 players will try their luck at the EPT Hungarian Open.

Mr Bowden said: "I think you'll find a lot of local players play these events and a lot of people from nearby countries will come along as well."
