Vampires Getting Hungry in Hungary

Vampires getting hungry in Hungary Theatregoers who like to be spooked as well as inspired when they go to see a show can catch one of Europe's most exciting productions in Hungary in early January.

Travellers staying in cheap hotels in Budapest in the new year can catch the Dance of the Vampires, or Vampirok Balja, at the Pesti Magyar Szinhaz between December 31st and January 13th.

This musical is based on the screenplay from famous director Roman Polanski's 1967 movie The Fearless Vampire Killers.

It tells the story of Professor Abronsius and his young helper and their vampire-fighting adventures in mysterious Transylvania.

This unique show premiered in Vienna in 1997 and has since toured through Stuttgart, Hamburg, New York, Warsaw and Tokyo.

Hungarian speakers will have their linguistic skills tested by the show, but organisers will happily provide subtitles on request for those who are more comfortable with English.
