Make (Air)waves

Make (Air)waves Music fans have a new reason to visit the land office and fire in October when the Icelandic capital Reykjavik hosts the Iceland Airwaves Festival 2007.

Running from October 17th to October 21st 2007, according to the festival site, the event is an annual extravaganza of talent both from Iceland and around the world.

Central Reykjavik will rock to the sounds of the various bands in action as eight different venues see action and the party goes on and on into (and perhaps through) the night.

These include the Prada Airwaves Club and, a little more unusually, the Reykjavik art museum.

While the cosy, compact city fills with the festival vibe, visitors staying in cheap hotels can also enjoy a wide range of attractions.

This is especially the case for nature lovers, who can find waterfalls, geysers, glaciers, hot springs, rugged landscapes and whale watching all within a short distance of the city.
