Young Guns Aiming for Euro Glory
The World Cup may have broken the hearts of young football fans across Europe, but this summer's Rey Cup may put many on the road to football stardom.
Held at Reykjavik's Laugardalur sports centre, the event is an international football tournament for youth teams, starting on July 26th and running until July 30th 2006.
Boys and girls can take part in 13, 14 and 15-year-old age categories, possibly either to sample the glory of victory or despondency of defeat.
While it's possible that an English team may achieve glory at this tournament, the quality of opposition could mean that they want to avoid a penalty shootout.
Visiting teams to the event will include former English Premiership side West Bromwich Albion's under-16 boys team and the Kew Park Rangers under-14 girls side, to be joined by opposition from across Europe.
The tournament final will be held at the National Stadium, which seats around 7,000 fans.
