Book Cheap Hotels in Dublin and Take in Scenes of the New World
While staying in a cheap hotel in Dublin, catch Picturing New York at the Irish Museum of Modern Art before the exhibition closes on February 7th.
The exhibition features 145 photographs, on loan from New York's Museum of Modern Art.
Following a history of the city and its evolution, the photographs cover the period from 1880, when photography was still in its early stages, to the present day.
Visitors will see the city and its inhabitants, picturing great architecture and slums, wealthy inhabitants and street dwellers.
Many Irish people emigrated to New York at the turn of the 20th century and images of the city from this time will show visitors just what they would have seen stepping off the boat.
Diane Arbus, Garry Winogrand, Lisette Model, Alfred Stieglitz and Cindy Sherman are just some of the influential artists whose photographs will be on display illustrating the changing shape of the urban jungle.
