Can You Spot a Stayer at Leopardstown?
The annual races at Leopardstown racecourse in Dublin have become as much a part of festive celebrations as mistletoe and mulled wine.
Fans of the horses who don't mind going out in the cold can catch four different meetings at Leopardstown - the Durkan New Homes Novice Chase, the Future Champion Novice Hurdle, the Lexus Chase and the December Hurdle - between December 26th and 29th.
The steeplechase on the first day is one of the highlights of the schedule, with a €100,000 (£70,000) purse up for grabs.
In the past this race has been won by runners who will be familiar to racing fans, like Danoli, Native Upmanship and Moscow Flyer.
Among the other races in the festival is the Paddy Power Dial-a-Bet chase, which was won impressively by Nickname last year.
Those staying in cheap hotels in Dublin who make it to Leopardstown over Christmas will be able to enjoy visiting a course that is nearly 120 years old.
