Carlos Amorales Presents Dark Mirror
Mexican artist Carlos Amorales will present his exhibition Dark Mirror in Dublin this year.
This innovative double video projection will go on show at the Irish Museum of Modern Art until May 11th.
Amorales uses an animation by graphic designer Andre Pahl and an original score by composer Jose Maria Serralde in Dark Mirror.
The piece was developed using the artist's archive of digital drawings based on found images and personal memories.
People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin should go prepared for an unusual experience, as the result of the artist's experiment with these materials is an unsettling animation depicting apocalyptic scenes which use imagery rooted in popular culture.
Amorales may already be familiar to British art enthusiasts as he presented an exhibition featuring Mexican wrestlers performing in wrestling rings at the Tate Modern in 2003.
