Holidaymakers searching for a unique theatre experience will be able to find exactly what they are looking for at Dublin's Abbey Theatre this year.
Between July 9th and August 2nd, people staying in cheap hotels in Dublin will be able to see Big Love at the Abbey Theatre, a play that starts with 50 brides fleeing 50 grooms to take refuge in an Italian villa.
The jilted grooms eventually catch up with their reluctant brides, leading to a bout of chaos that ends with 49 of the women murdering their would-be husbands.
It is not a tale without a bright side, however, as the remaining runaway bride ends up falling in love.
Big Love is the work of award-winning American playwright Charles Mee and is a reworking of The Suppliants by Aeschylus, one of the western world's oldest plays.
The production is brought to life with everything from poetry and philosophical musings to pop songs and dance.
