Croke Park to Host World Cup Qualifier

Croke Park to host World Cup qualifier Football fans staying in cheap hotels in Dublin in October may have the opportunity to visit the impressive Croke Park stadium to enjoy a World Cup qualification match.

The Republic of Ireland will play Cyprus at the venue on October 15th.

This will be the third game in the national side's bid for World Cup qualification, following matches in Georgia on September 6th and Montenegro on September 10th.

Giovanni Trapattoni will be expecting to pick up some points from these fixtures ahead of difficult away trips to Bulgaria on April 1st and Italy on June 6th.

Croke Park is Ireland's largest stadium, with capacity for 82,300 people, and has hosted performers ranging from Muhammad Ali to U2.

Events to be held at the venue over the coming months include the all-Ireland under-21 hurling final on September 21st and the all-Ireland ladies football final on the following weekend.
