Discover Modern Art in Dublin
Visitors to Dublin will be able to immerse themselves in the innovative and exciting world of modern art this summer at one of the city's major galleries.
The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) will be focusing on a number of artists this year, including Ulla von Brandenburg.
An exhibition featuring the work of this young German artist will reflect her training in set design and visual art and express her interests in literature, expressionist theatre, Hollywood films, photography and more.
Von Brandenburg is arguably best known for her 'tableaux vivants', or living pictures, which show a group of people on film, seemingly frozen, holding their staged positions for an entire reel of film.
People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin can discover the work of this innovative artist between May 28th and October 12th.
Another exhibition at the IMMA this year will feature the work of Janaina Tschape, who is presenting a solo display in Ireland for the first time.
The show will open on June 25th and will use the genetics of the chimera, a mythical beast, as a basis on which to create a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere through paintings, photographs and video installations.
