Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival to Pull in the Crowds

Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival to pull in the crowds The fastest growing cultural event in Ireland, Dublin's Fringe Theatre Festival, is set to draw the crowds again this year.

Established in 1995, the event offers three weeks of theatre, dance, comedy and visual arts, through September and October.

The festival aims to showcase a number of new Irish works, set in venues around the historic city, Whatsonwhen reports.

When the festival began life as a ten-venue event, audiences of 12,000 came to be entertained, but these days over 45,000 visitors flock to the various stages to witness the international, multi-disciplinary entertainment.

Venues for the fun include disused shops, galleries, pubs and clubs, as well as the more orthodox city spaces.

Travellers staying in one of the city's cheap hotels could also take time out to enjoy the city's famous nightlife, possibly even indulging in a pint of Guinness or two.

However, the city also boasts a wealth of attractions for the more sober-minded, including historic castles, art galleries and museums.
