Dublin Museum Looks Back to the 90s

Dublin museum looks back to the 90s The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Dublin recently opened an exhibition featuring a selection of sculptures and installations made in the 1990s.

Launched on May 14th, the display, entitled Between Metaphor and Object, will be open for people staying in cheap hotels in Dublin to visit until April next year.

The exhibition represents the diversity of the IMMA's collection of pieces from this period and offers a new perspective on some of the art by analysing it in context of the wider trends of the decade.

Many of the artworks on show are taken from the Weltkunst collection, which has been on loan to the Dublin museum since 1994.

The collection, which contains a number of British sculptures and drawings from the late 1980s and early 90s, will be returned to the Weltkunst Foundation in 2010.

Travellers planning to visit Dublin before June 21st this year can head to the IMMA to see an exhibition dedicated to the jewellery work of Alexander Calder.
