Dublin to Host Jane Austen Biopic
There have been a number of screen adaptations of Jane Austen's novels but now the author's own life is set to be the subject of a film.
The £8 million film, which details the young Austen's life, began shooting this month in Dublin.
The film essentially focuses on Austen's teenage love affair with Irish suitor Tom Lefroy, according to the Telegraph.
"It is Jane Austen in love, something you've never seen before, a complete departure from the usual oblique portrait of her as a spinster," producer Robert Bernstein told the newspaper.
Star of Brokeback Mountain, Anne Hathaway, is set to play the protagonist, with Narnia actor James McAvoy as her young Irish beau.
Austen's Pride and Prejudice has been adapted six times and Emma five. Her novels Persuasion, Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey have also been made into films.
