Dublin's Got Soul

Dublin will be celebrating the concepts of peace, unity and love at a special festival this year.

Between May 22nd and 25th, the city will host the Soul Festival, which will see a series of concerts being held at venues throughout the capital.

Some of the stars of the soul scene perform in some of Dublin's most intimate surroundings during the festival, which sets out to celebrate the themes that characterise soul music.

People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin will be able to see live bands, top international DJs, music master-classes and concerts live from Merrion Square Park.

Last year's festival included performances by the Rance Allen Group, the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir and The Commitments, who performed at the outdoor Soul Picnic event.

Music lovers staying in Dublin in May could also be interested in the Skerries Traditional Music Weekend.

This celebration of traditional music, which features concerts, recitals, workshops and more, will take place in the seaside town of Skerries, 18 miles from Dublin, from May 16th to 18th.
