Exciting New Show Comes to Dublin

An original and challenging new piece of theatre by one of America's most exciting new writers will come to the Dublin stage in May.

Drama fans staying in cheap hotels in Dublin will be able to see The Brothers Size, a production of the Foundry Theatre in association with the Public Theater of New York, at the Abbey Theatre between May 20th and June 14th.

The play follows the two siblings of the title – Ogun, a car mechanic and Oshoosi, a recent parolee.

Exploring themes of brotherhood and what it means to be a man, The Brothers Size combines modern ideas with ceremonial traditions in an emotional tale that asks the audience to be the community, the witness and the judge.

The play was written by Tarell Alvin, who has been identified as a new and exciting talent in theatre.

In its review of the production, the New York Times said: "Listen closely, and you might hear that thrilling sound that is one of the main reasons we go to the theatre – the beautiful music of a new voice."
