Experience the Genius of Noel Coward in Dublin

Experience the genius of Noel Coward in Dublin Culture vultures staying in cheap hotels in Dublin this summer will be able to experience the wit and charm of Noel Coward's writing by paying a visit to the Gate Theatre.

Coward's play Present Laughter will be staged at the theatre from July 9th to August 8th.

It will be presented by the creative team behind the previous Gate Theatre productions of Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan, W Somerset Maugham's The Constant Wife and other plays.

At the centre of Present Laughter is the character of Garry Essendine, a matinee idol and playboy who attempts to delay the onset of middle age by engaging in countless affairs and romantic adventures, a habit that eventually comes back to haunt him.

The play has been described by the Observer as an example of "Coward at his peak", with dialogue that "sparkles".

It will be staged at the Gate Theatre after Arthur Miller's All My Sons, which recently had its run extended to July 4th to meet public demand.
