Feakle but Not Fickle
Despite their recent Eurovision flop, Ireland is widely recognised as the home of some great music, with traditional sounds that enchant and delight a wide range of people.
Those who enjoy such sounds can revel in them at the Feakle Festival in County Clare, where, set amid beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes, visitors staying in cheap hotels can experience the time-honoured musical style of the Emerald Isle between August 8th and 14th 2007.
Festival organisers have put together a varied programme, with various recitals, concerts and performances, plus a ceilidh, classes for students and beginners, a set dancing workshop and the festival walk, which takes in some of the local countryside.
Tickets for concerts are priced at €40 for two gala concerts, or €25 for one of them, with a few €10 events and classes.
However, most of the events in the festival are free, enabling visitors to save their cash for other traditional activities involving things like Guinness.
