Have a Foyne Time
Those who enjoy their caffeine and a bit of alcohol too will be in their element if they head to Foynes in the Republic of Ireland in July, where the Irish Coffee Festival will take place (dates to be confirmed).
Celebrating the invention of the whiskey-infused tipple, the annual event includes a series of themed parades as the locals dress up and have a party amid partying and drinking.
A key element of the festival is the coffee making championship, where the finest coffee makers attempt to create the most enjoyable tipple, with those who get to judge the competition having one of life's more pleasant responsibilities.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels will be able to enjoy all this for free customary Irish hospitality and party spirit.
Other attractions include the Seaplane Museum, reflecting the port history of this town on the Shannon estuary, as well as plenty of attractive local hilly scenery.
