Ireland's Writers Explored in Dublin
Ireland has a literary heritage matched by few other countries of its size and this long-running culture of great artists will be celebrated in Dublin this year.
Between April 1st and May 30th, the Dublin Writers Museum will present The Writers Entertain.
This one-man performance will explore the work of some of Ireland's most famous literary creators, including Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, William Butler Yeats and Seamus Heaney.
People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin will be able to visit the show for an ideal introduction to the work of Ireland's best-known writers.
The emphasis of the performance will be on humour but there will also be biographical information and excerpts from some of the artists' most famous works.
Located on Parnell Square, the Dublin Writers Museum occupies an original 18th century house, which accommodates the museum rooms, the library, the gallery and the administration area.
Next door to the museum is the Irish Writers' Centre, which is the headquarters of the Society of Irish Playwrights, the Irish Children's Book Trust and others.
