No Flash in the Pan

No flash in the pan Those who love their Celtic culture will be able to enjoy a huge variety of it at the Pan Celtic International Festival in the Irish town of Letterkenny in County Donegal.

Held from April the 10th to the 15th, the festival puts on a show of music, dance, street theatre and sport that brings together the nations of Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Wales, with plenty of national dress worn and Celtic language filling the air.

One of the highlights is a Camogie Blitz, a game for girls that comprises a cross between hurling and shinty.

A weekly ticket to cover entry to all events costs €50 (£23.40), while a weekend pass costs €35.

Apart from the festival, the county of Donegal offers many scenic attractions, with several mountains and its own miniature version of the Lake District.

It has plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
