Poet and Piper Combine

Poet and piper combine A famous poet and a skilled musician will be combining their skills in Dublin for the entertainment of visitors and locals.

On March 16th, people staying in cheap hotels in Dublin can see Seamus Heaney and Liam O'Flynn hosting The Poet and the Piper at the Abbey Theatre.

Heaney, from Derry, is the current holder of the Nobel laureate for literature and O'Flynn is an internationally-acclaimed uilleann piper.

The writer, who is renowned for the beauty with which he reads his poems, will be reciting some of his own verse, while O'Flynn will play the uilleann pipes, which is the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland.

This event is far from a few lines of poetry and some music thrown together, as it is carefully composed and performed to ensure that the words and the melodies combine and mingle to create a unique aural experience.
