Rep of Ireland Host Serbia in Footie Friendly
The Republic of Ireland football team will prepare for their long road of qualification for the 2010 World Cup with a friendly against Serbia in May.
Footie fans staying in cheap hotels in Dublin can see this match at Croke Park on May 24th.
This game will be an interesting one for followers of international football as it will represent the first test for the Republic of Ireland's players under new coach Giovanni Trapattoni.
The 69-year-old Italian will take control of the senior international squad at a training camp in the Algarve before the Serbia game.
His goal will be qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the friendly at Croke Park will give some hints of the team's chances before they face competitive games against Georgia, Montenegro and Cyprus later this year.
Croke Park is the third largest stadium in Europe, with capacity to hold more than 82,000 people.
On May 30th it will host a performance by Canadian singer Celine Dion.
