Sea Stallion to Set off from Dublin
People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin at the end of June will be able to enjoy a thrilling occasion as the Viking warship Sea Stallion sets off on its final journey from the Irish capital to Roskilde in Denmark.
The Sea Stallion has resided in the National Museum at Collins Barracks since arriving in Dublin last August.
Measuring an impressive 30 metres in length, the vessel was the result of a Danish marine project to create an accurate reconstruction of a Viking ship.
When she first arrived in Dublin, thousands of people came to see the boat sail up the River Liffey and welcome the 65-strong crew after their crossing of the North Sea.
Just as many are expected to visit Custom House Quay at Dublin's Docklands on June 29th to see the Sea Stallion embark on her final journey from Ireland to Roskilde.
The ship will be given a fitting send-off, with celebrations beginning at 09:00 with traditional Irish music, a gospel choir and jazz.
Visitors to Dublin will be able to see the Sea Stallion for the final time at her berth at Sean O'Casey bridge on June 28th.
