Three Sisters Come to Dublin
Dublin's Abbey Theatre will be the venue for an intriguing piece of theatre this year when it hosts a production of Three Sisters.
People staying in cheap hotels in Dublin will be able to see Brian Friel's version of the Anton Chekhov play between June 24th and August 2nd.
The story centres on Olga, Masha and Irina, three siblings who are stuck in a small town in the Russian countryside after the death of their father.
All three have a dream of escaping their provincial lifestyle to return to Moscow, the city of their birth, and have to choose between staying as they are or abandoning everything they know to make the risky move to the big city.
Director David Leveaux will make his Abbey Theatre debut with the play, which will feature Fiona Bell, Lorcan Cranitch and Derbhle Crotty in the lead roles.
Currently showing at the Abbey Theatre is The Seafarer, a funny and powerful play written by Conor McPherson.
