Running from May 27th to June 4th, the primary theme is theatre, with performances listed on the festival programme including plays such as Small Box Psychosis, the Ballad of Malachy Mulligan and Trainspotting, while there is also a Shakespeare workshop.
There are also book and poetry readings, musical performances and coffee mornings with tips on subjects such as make-up and home interior design.
Admission prices vary, with the most expensive tickets being €15 (£10), some admission prices including refreshments (such as the coffee mornings) and some events being free of charge.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Dundalk can also enjoy the sights and sounds of a historic town while enjoying plenty of traditional hospitality.
Fine buildings worth visiting include St Patrick's Cathedral and the Courthouse, while just north of the town lies the Hill of Faughart, which contains several archaeological sites, one being a hill fort dating back to the Iron Age.
