When Irish Eyes Are Racing

When Irish eyes are racing As one of the great horse racing countries of the world, Ireland is a popular place to go to see racing at any time, but still more so when the biggest event on the national racing calendar comes round.

The Irish Grand National is run at Fairyhouse near Dublin every year, with this year's event taking place April 9th (Easter Monday), forming the highlight of the Easter meeting.

Race fans can gain admission on the day for €30 (£20.23) and €20 on the other days of the festival, Sunday 8th and Tuesday 10th.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Dublin also have a wealth of other things to see and do.

Those who like a drink can enjoy the craic in a bar with a Guinness or two, or even visit the place where the black stuff is made, the St James's brewery, while the region also offers good beaches and upland walking in the nearby Wicklow Mountains.
